What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Support implementation of case plans and permanency planning for individuals in child welfare services
- Accompany Services Specialists on visits with youth and family members
- Transport family members to facilitate family involvement
- Report observations during visits and propose recommendations to Services Specialists
- Supervise visitations between parents, siblings, and relatives, observing interactions and reporting incidents
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Completion of two years of college (60 semester or 90 term credits) with at least 15 semester (23 term) credits in human services areas such as social work, psychology, or sociology
- Services Specialist Assistant 8: No specific type or amount of experience required
- Services Specialist Assistant 9: One year of experience equivalent to a Services Specialist Assistant 8
- Services Specialist Assistant E10: Two years of experience equivalent to a Services Specialist Assistant 8 or one year equivalent to a Services Specialist Assistant 9
- Valid driver's license, or provide an official two-year driving record if licensed in another state

- Familiarity with case planning and family involvement strategies
- Skills in engaging with diverse communities and underserved populations
- Knowledge of child protective services and foster care processes
- Experience in conducting home studies and assessments
