Job Description

- Use influence and knowledge to develop and improve working practices within depot.
- Conduct Risk Assessments (Fire, Traffic, DSE, NEM & General)
- Manage the Site Induction process to ensure all visitors / contractors / hauliers are inducted before being allowed on site
- Actively pursue any opportunities to improve quality of process and goods on site to include controls on CapEx (identifying & raising) spends and budgets.
- Ensure full compliance with Brenntag UK & Irelands key policy and procedures.
- Locally manage all aspects of site security at Colours, Halifax, ensuring both people and assets are safe from unauthorised interference.
- Take site ownership for all aspects of the Asset Integrity & Process Safety Management on site in compliance with Brenntag Global standards.
- Facilities Management including Fire evacuation controller, Intruder alarm & Fire alarm keyholder etc.
- Safe mapping of chemicals and applying segregation rules for the storage of chemicals
- Maintain the ISO quality systems of 9001 and 14001.
- To assist QSHE team in the investigations following incidents/accidents to identify root cause and ensure agreed corrective actions are carried out in an effective and timely manner.
- To contribute significantly to ensuring customer service excellence such as to promote and foster open and appropriate communications with all parts of the business and to regularly monitor customer service targets.
- To attend and/ or lead the Customer Complaints meetings and ensure any related / agreed corrective actions are carried out in an effective and timely manner.
- To reduce any stock losses and stock adjustments.
- To carry out staff appraisals in accordance with company’s management performance system.
- To conduct training reviews covering all staff on site and plan refresher, other training as necessary.
- To ensure that training records are maintained and that central records are updated in a timely manner.
- To ensure any and all KPIs are reported and are at the required level.
- The prioritisation, planning and co-ordination of internal / external driven projects on site.
- To ensure required tasks are expedited and communicated effectively within the company.
- To use any audit non-conformances as Opportunities for Improvement with a view to making our systems more robust.
- To develop, agree and implement new solutions to assist in addressing the ‘gaps’ highlighted from review.
- Review and assist to resolve near misses through the continuous improvement process
- Implementing improvement and corrective actions resulting from customer complaints or near misses
- Take part in physical and reconciliation of inventory at bi-monthly stock take.(Every 8 weeks)
- Strong Health and Safety Leadership and appropriate level of experience.
- Operational/ Processing /Compliance /Qualification background
- Leadership experience in a highly regulated operation
- Clear written and oral communication skills
- Enthusiasm towards change and under agile and fast-evolving circumstances
- Good strategic decision-making as well as firm and swift decision-making when required
- Driven to success, self-motivated and pro-actively engaging stakeholders towards achieving e
- The ability to manage to budgeted expectations and demonstrate strong cost control ethic via site efficiency and personal effectiveness.
- Ability to thrive under pressure, at ease in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to delegate Responsibilities effectively.
- Time and Project Management skills with the ability to be able to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously along with last minute changes based on M&A processes.
- Full driving licence.
- Import/Export Qualifications such as Dangerous Goods by Air
- First Aider
- Knowledge of existing systems, Mfour, Lotus Notes, SAP, Microsoft Office

The Facilities Manager is vital for ensuring that our strong Global reputation is maintained in the marketplace.
