      Job Summary:

      ESSENTIAL DUTIES

      1. Supervise all phases of plant operation to assure that production schedules are met and customer demand satisfied.

      2. Coordinate production, maintenance, and shipping through consultation with department heads.

      3. Review production, quality, and shipping reports on a daily basis.

      4. Maintain daily contact with Customer Care Representatives.

      5. Check product quality, production and shipments on a routine basis.

      6. Consult with Purchasing on purchase and delivery of raw materials.

      7. Provide strategic direction to the operation through consultation with the Senior Director Manufacturing and President.

      8. Responsible for the plant safety program and internal and external environmental objectives.

      9. Plan activities with the Senior EHS/Safety Specialist and safety committee. Be active in accident/incident/near-miss investigations.

      10. Assist in setting safety and environmental objectives.

      11. Responsible for proper maintenance and housekeeping of plant facilities, purchase of plant operating supplies and equipment.

      12. Frequently inspect plant. Review maintenance schedules and procedures with Manager Maintenance.

      13. Assist department heads in preparation of requests for capital expenditures for equipment and processes.

      14. Carry out the operating/administrative policies of the company and assure adherence to plant written policies. Report exceptions to the HR Business Partner and Senior Director Manufacturing.

      15. Work with Accounting Manager and department heads in preparation of an annual budget.

      16. Review cost information daily, weekly, and monthly and suggest initiatives to improve operating costs.

      17. Stimulate, lead, and encourage costs reduction projects. Report financial results as necessary.

      18. Consult with the HR Business Partner on personnel matters.

      19. Assist in preparation of salaried merit reviews and the hourly wage/benefit review. Interpret company/plant policy to department heads and other employees.

      20. Responsible for providing strategic direction to the operation.

      21. Develop long range plans based on company objectives through consultation Senior Director Manufacturing and President.

      22. Plan for future growth and development through capital investment.

      23. Provide for continuous improvement of personnel and plant processes.

      24. Direct programs to maintain employee morale at a high level.

      4. Travel Requirements: +/- 20%

      5. Working Conditions: Office, travel, and outdoors/indoors within a Process Plant and Mine environment

      6. Physical Requirements: Computer, ability to make oral presentations, lifting objects up to 50 lbs., standing or sitting for extended periods, extended or irregular hours, bending, climbing, kneeling, stooping, walking on uneven terrain. Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment and work outdoors in temperature extremes

      Consideration will be given based on geography, candidate experience, and qualifications. Annual Salary Range: 162,000-207,000
