What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct computer forensic investigations, data recovery, and electronic discovery
- Identify and resolve security violations while maintaining data protection systems
- Evaluate existing security measures and establish controls to mitigate vulnerabilities
- Provide organization-wide security consulting services and maintain training programs
- Document inquiries related to security breaches and perform compliance auditing
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a Cybersecurity Operations Center or Cybersecurity Incident Response Team, preferably in higher education or healthcare
- Ability to work rotating or irregular shifts, including holidays and weekends
- Obtain CompTIA Security+ certification within six months of hire
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Certification in a relevant field such as Security+ or GSEC
- Experience with security tools like firewalls, DUO, and Crowdstrike
- Familiarity with data collection and analysis from SIEM, IPS, NAC, and vulnerability scanners
- Ability to communicate findings effectively
