  DynamoDB is a key-value and document database that delivers single-digit-millisecond performance at any scale. As one of the largest distributed database systems in the world, we continue to believe it is Day 1 for the DynamoDB business. We are making investments to make the service even more scalable and resilient and are looking for a deeply technical, team-first software development engineer to push DynamoDB even further as our customer base continues to grow.
  
  DynamoDB engineers are constantly challenged to think of unique and innovative solutions. The quality bar is high. As an engineer here, you will work on building services that operate at a massive scale and are responsible for routing large amount of data. Our code is responsible for routing customer requests in the most efficient way across thousands of machines, while providing high throughput and low-latency experience. You will exercise your intellectual curiosity, work with motivated teams of sharp individuals, and get insightful guidance from senior and principal engineers. This is a hands-on position in which you will own software delivery end-to-end: from requirements gathering, to design, to implementation and code reviews, to incremental launches, to monitoring, operations and continuous improvement.
  
  Key job responsibilities
  - Design, build, operate, optimize, and continuously iterate on the design of highly distributed, large-scale services.
  - Translate requirements into detailed solution architectures and technical plans.
  - Work with others on the engineering team to perform day-to-day development activities, participate in design discussions, code reviews, and ongoing operations of the service.
  - Deliver quality engineering work on time and on budget. Execute against project plans and delivery commitments.
  - Scale distributed systems with optimal balance between performance and cost.
  - Automate and improve repetitive operational processes.
  - Support more junior members of the team as they progress with their careers.
  
  A day in the life
  - Build high-impact solutions and ship them to our large global customer base.
  - Participate in design discussions, code review, and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
  - Partner cross-functionally to help drive business decisions with your technical input.
  - Work in a startup-like environment, where you always keep your focus on the most important problems.- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  - 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  - Experience programming with at least one software programming language- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  - Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

  Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
