  Qualifications

  Must have a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field

  • Skills required: Programming languages: C or C++; Use of protocols in computer networking;
  • Operating system fundamentals, including kernel operations, scheduling, memory management, and semaphores; and Data structures and algorithm fundamentals.

  Skills may be gained through experience or academic coursework. Qualifying education, coursework, and/or experience may have been gained concurrently.

  Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, support and maintain software used for telecommunications equipment.
  • Design software and work with product management and product development teams to identify the best approach to develop a new feature, enhance an existing feature or solve a particular software issue given a set of requirements.
  • Implement software by taking the design and putting it into effect using appropriate data structures and algorithms in C/C++ code.
  • Perform continuous improvement in areas such as memory usage reduction, performance optimization, and code simplification.
  • Support and maintain software during quality assurance and product release phases by debugging and solving problems that arise in the software after it is implemented.
  • Accountable for quality and accuracy of own output.
  • Responsible for contribution to teamwork. Carry out tasks/activities according to assignment and set guidelines.
  • Demonstrate initiative and adaptability to changing business environments. #LI-DNI

• About the company

  Nokia’s transition to a primary focus on telecommunications began in the 1990s. The first GSM call was made in 1991 using Nokia equipment. Rapid success in the mobile phone sector allowed Nokia to become by 1998, the best-selling mobile phone brand in the world. In 2003 Nokia introduced the first camera phone. Additional acquisitions have positioned Nokia to be an industry leader in the transition to 5G wireless technology by offering the only end-to-end 5G network portfolio available on a global basis. In 2016 the Nokia brand re-entered the mobile handset market through a licensing agreement with HMD Global, allowing them to offer phones under the Nokia brand.
