      We have an exciting opportunity for an undergraduate to join our dynamic Innovation Enablement team as a Software Developer and Programmer. The Innovation Enablement team form a main part of the Innovation Engine in Computacenter at a group level. The market has become more software-driven and therefore we are offering this opportunity to talented undergraduates with a passion for coding who can ‘bring our solutions to life’. This is a 13 -months Industrial Placement opportunity based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire with a potential for Europe-wide travel, remote working may be required.

      What you’ll do

      As part of the 13-month industrial placement programme as a software developer, you will have the opportunity to:

      • Create showcases to bring to life our global strategic investments.
      • Assist in ideation sessions with live prototyping.
      • Be responsible for demonstration creation including our demonstration portal.
      • Provide innovation consultancy across the business and for our customers.
      • Have ‘Hands on’ experience in a fast-paced environment which will provide an opportunity to learn and work on innovative solutions for our customers.

      What you’ll need

      As well as a strong interest in IT and software you should be able to demonstrate the following:

      • We’re seeking individuals who are working towards any degree (Any subject/ Classification) and are in the penultimate year of study.
      • Can demonstrate a willingness to work with any development platform, including Microsoft suite (eg Azure, Power products), backend development (e.g. NodeJS), automation/scripting (eg Python), web development, and Cloud technologies (Azure/AWS/Terraform).
      • Has the ability and drive to pick up new languages or techniques as needed.
      • Confidence in bringing own ideas into any task and being a self-starter.
      • Displays a strong work ethic in a dynamic customer-facing environment.
      • Familiarity with 3D engines, ideally with Unity or Blender and Mobile Application Development (mainly Flutter).
      • Autonomous and independent working style where required.
