      The Multimedia Designer, Senior will provide support to Purdue University Global. Building on Purdue University's mission to provide greater access to affordable, high-quality education, Purdue University Global is a public, nonprofit institution offering a world-class education online.

      Job Summary:

      The Multimedia Designer, Senior designs, creates and coordinates the development and production of multimedia projects including graphic arts, photography, videography, audio production, multimedia, motion graphics, and web design. This position consults with clients on multimedia programs and audience needs and ensures consistent branding and delivery of messages. The Multimedia Designer, Senior researches and incorporates new software and technologies and may design communication and marketing materials including brochures, newsletters, advertisements, and other printed materials.

      What to expect in this role:

      • Multimedia Development
        • Consult on multimedia projects for course development and revision.
        • Advise on multimedia solutions for educational content and learning materials.
        • Design and develop engaging, AI-driven, and interactive advanced instructional media elements using instructional design and multimedia theories and methodologies to support student learning.
        • Design and create low-complexity media assets, using approved technology, aligned to principles that support student learning.
      • Project Management
        • Execute multimedia design projects within the approved curriculum timeline.
        • Manage full multimedia projects, from initiation to archiving of educational content, establishing timelines, and meeting milestones.
        • Ensure all multimedia projects adhere to ADA compliance standards.
      • Innovation
        • Explore and integrate new multimedia techniques and technologies to enrich teaching and learning.
        • Stay current with multimedia design trends and their application in higher education.
        • Leverage AI-powered tools for tasks such as content generation, personalized learning pathways, accessibility enhancements, and efficient media production
        • Perform other duties as assigned.

      Experience:

      • Bachelor's Degree (B.A./B.S.) in Instructional Technology, Technology, Media Design, Graphic Design or related field. Master’s Degree preferred.
      • 4+ years related experience.
      • Advanced knowledge of multimedia principles.
      • Practical knowledge of instructional design online pedagogy, learning theory, and experience applying this knowledge to real world projects.
      • Experience with design and media development tools.
      • Proficient in the use of AI tools and platforms, such as Gemini and/or Synthesia.
      • Video and audio editing experience.
      • Experience in Learning Management Systems (LMS). Knowledgeable with D2L’s Brightspace and/or other LMS systems.
      • Online experience

      What we’re looking for:

      • Familiarity with ADA Accessibility Guidelines preferred.
      • Broad knowledge across multiple software products, including Adobe Creative Cloud, and Articulate (StoryLine, Rise360).
      • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of emerging educational technologies, including Web 3.0, and AI-powered tools.
      • Effective analytical skills with the ability to assess situations, resolve issues or make recommendations as appropriate.
      • Ability to work in a remote environment, across teams, departments, and Schools.
      • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, balance competing demands for time, and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
      • Strong collaboration, communication, and writing skills for effective partnership across remote teams, departments, and academic Schools.
      • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with a professional demeanor with people at all levels within the organization.
      • Demonstrates exceptional organizational and teamwork abilities.
      • Advanced proficiency in Google Workspace applications (Mail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.) including Chat and Google Hangout plus MS Office.

      Additional Information

      • The target salary is $72,500.
