      Description
      Hennepin Health is seeking a Special Investigations Unit (SIU) Administrative Assistant to join their team. This individual will primarily assist the lead investigator with ongoing Medicaid fraud investigations. The employee will be expected to process case data and help create and maintain the investigative case files used by the lead investigator. The employee may also need to collect additional investigative information and conduct informational interviews with members and providers.
      Location and hours:
      This position is hybrid and will be performed both on-site at the Health Services Building at 525 Portland Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55415 (this location is accessible by public transportation and light rail) and remote as job duties require. Work hours will be Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. with Wednesday and Thursday being onsite. While this position is designated as hybrid, based on current requirements hires must reside in or relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin.
      About this position type:

      This is a temporary, full-time, benefit earning mobility assignment. You must be a current regular or probationary employeeof Hennepin County to be eligible for this position. Note: Limited duration employees are not eligible.

      This position is a job mobility assignment that includes participation for up to 12 months, with the possibility of extension. A mobility assignment is a voluntary job change to a different department that is filled by a regular or probationary employee to carry out the duties of the same or a different job class. Hennepin County mobility assignments allow employees to develop a particular expertise and prepare for promotional opportunities as well as facilitate, support, and accelerate knowledge transfer across departments. Job mobility assignments are temporary; employees typically return to their original department at the conclusion of their mobility assignment.
      The hiring department may opt to include all employees in lower/higher pay ranges.
      Supervisor approval is required.

      In this position, you will:
      • Prepare and manage investigation files.
      • Perform initial investigation activities, including the collection of data, and then make a recommendation on next steps.
      • Identify potential areas of improvement and recommend changes to program procedures.
      • Prepare and send correspondence to parties being investigated.
      • Lead the production of internal and external reporting efforts, including required regulatory reporting.
      • Work with other department of Hennepin Health to effectuate case dispositions (e.g., implement payment suspensions, make policy updates, provider outreach, etc.).
      • Collaborate with the investigation departments of our vendors, and our partners in the county.

      Need to have:
      • One of the following:
        • Four years or more of experience in general administrative work related to the management of departmental/organizational operations or in a specialty area appropriate to the position.
        • Bachelor's degree or higher in public administration, business administration, health administration or other field appropriate to the position.

      Nice to have:
      • Experience:
        • Working with Medicaid, MinnesotaCare, Medicare or publicly funded health programs.
        • With claims or claims processing, including knowledge of medical terminology, costs, enrollment and group data.
        • Working with or for a managed care organization.
        • Using EthicsPoint.
        • Using Microsoft Excel.
        • Conducting investigations in a professional setting.
      • Ability to request and manage records.
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
