This position is responsible for planning the strategic direction and day to day management of the Volvo UK Emergency Service market offer and positioning including vehicles sales, product design and specification, pricing, marketing, customer relationship management and service provision. The successful applicant will be responsible for increasing Volvo sales annually by Leading the Special Vehicles Team and driving performance to deliver the highest volume of potential sales and class leading customer service within the Emergency Services Market.
This role encompasses all facets of direct contact with Government, Crown Commercial and Emergency entities and the agents thereof (these including, but not limited to, lease companies, fleet management companies, brokers, tender portals and vehicle converters). The incumbent will lead the team to ensure that end-user clients / prospective clients are furnished with the best possible information and advice in order that optimal relationships are established and maintained, so safeguarding the sales profitability performance of Volvo Car UK Ltd..
Your key deliverables will include:
• Deliver the VCUK Special Vehicle annual registration target by effectively leading the Special Vehicle team and actively selling to customers and prospects including developing new innovative solutions
• Deliver customer satisfaction by effective management of the Technical Specialists to provide full technical support, information and backup to customers and blue light converters
• Manage the Special Vehicle Account Manager and Support team to ensure efficient quotation/order/invoice/payment/delivery/registration process and all supplier Purchase Orders
• Manage and control vehicle converter partners and one-stop-shop vehicle conversion process
• Manage and control the Special Vehicle Demonstration Fleet: Order, convert (blue light/emergency warning equipment), run, sell fleet of vehicles and ensure vehicles are converted to suitable roles to maximize reach
• Manage and control vehicle import/PDI process with supplier/agent by ensuring Special Vehicles Support team perform all duties relating to sales co-ordination and PDI progression
• Plan and implement UK Special Vehicles strategy including growth feasibility, new opportunities, product specifications, package offer, pricing and marketing.
• Identify new opportunities and liaise with Special Vehicles Sweden and UK Product team to develop modifications to products to satisfy market need• Plan and complete annual marketing activities and events within VCUK and VCC allocated annual budget.
• Identification and completion of Emergency Service Sector tender opportunities including National Frameworks, Regional tenders and other emergency services and government tenders as advertised on government and public sector portals, including business cases to support sales.
• Deliver the VCUK Public Sector annual registration target by effectively managing the Crown Commercial Service relationship, contract, associated tenders, support terms, special offers, CCS rebate structure and reporting.
• Effectively manage and lead their business area to ensure VCUK delivers against the annual plan and budget.
What you’ll bring
The successful candidate will have:
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience within the fleet sales environment, preferably public sector
• A history of achieving sales results both individually and through a team
• Experience of preparing business cases and gaining approval from senior management
• Experience of working with financial budgets
• Experience of managing a team
• Recognised knowledge of working in the Fleet sector
• Strong Excel skills
• Strong presentation skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Sound Product knowledge
• UK Motor Vehicles distribution and Law
• Sound knowledge of the Emergency Services Market
• Sound knowledge of vehicle conversion market
• Relationship dynamics – influence and direct the actions of others (internal and external customers) in order to secure the optimal business result
• Integrity, ability to handle confidential information with the utmost sensitivity and able to pass police vetting
• Full Clean Driving Licence
