Job Description

- Secure sponsorship revenue through the attraction of investment for Tātaki Auckland Unlimited’s Major Events programme including cultural festivals
- Implement the Tātaki Auckland Unlimited wide sponsorship strategy
- Work to support the sustainable growth and development of Tātaki Auckland Unlimited partnerships
- Manage assigned partner relationships
- Ensure agreements are robust, strategic and support an integrated approach to key stakeholder relationships, including commercial partners, event promoters and presenters, funding organisations, media partners, contractors and suppliers
- Manage stewardship of benefits across all sponsorship relationships, including VIP experiences
- Build and secure tailored partnerships and sponsorship proposals in response to identified opportunities and future business requirements
- Negotiate contracts and partnership agreements in liaison with the Head of Major Events, which are aligned to Auckland Unlimited’s business objectives
- Deliver exceptional stakeholder and relationship experiences both internally and externally
- Work collaboratively with other Auckland Unlimited business divisions and their sponsorship departments to support a collective approach to sponsors, grant applications, philanthropy, and donors
- Achieve key financial milestones and maximise revenue generation through sponsorship
- Work on the evaluation and review for growth of all sponsorships and donations
- Be commercially astute and results driven as well as a self-starter with the confidence and capability to work autonomously.

He angitūtanga: The opportunity
An exciting opportunity for an experienced sponsorship manager and relationship builder to contribute toward developing a dynamic sponsorship programme. The key purpose of this role is to develop, manage and implement the sponsorship portfolio across Tataki Auckland Owned Events, such as Diwali, Lantern Festival, Pasifika and Moana Auckland.
From sponsor acquisition through to benefit activation, you will manage the relationship throughout the pipeline and work with the Major Event team to create opportunities for revenue generation through sponsorship and partnerships.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a highly motivated person with strong networks to deliver a cohesive and appropriate sponsorship portfolio that creates commercial partnerships and sponsorships that add value to Major Events programming and optimises commercial revenue generation as well as servicing existing Sponsorship Partners.

He kōrero mōu: About you
To be successful in the role you will possess the vision and drive to secure commercial revenue targets through the sponsorship programme and develop structured offerings across different sponsorship levels for the different Major Events and Cultural Festivals.
You will have strong business development skills in influencing and negotiating and be experienced in working at a senior level with a variety of different stakeholders both internally and externally to set up the structures for sponsorship partnerships, supported by your meticulous attention to detail to leverage the value of every partnership.
You will have the talent to drive, implement and develop the sponsorship strategies for Tataki Auckland Unlimited Major Events.
Key areas of responsibility
A tertiary qualification in business, marketing or related discipline is preferred as well as at least five year’s background and proven experience in a comparable sponsorship, fundraising or similar role.
