- Ensure taxability matrices are accurate, current, and maintained for each supported country.
- Coordinate annual tax legislation reviews with external tax providers and ensure reviews are completed timely.
- Assess tax legislation changes and ensure all required payroll and tax updates are implemented accurately.
- Update payroll guides, taxability documentation, and payroll instructions to reflect legislative or policy changes.
- Perform and review tax gross-up calculations and tax withholding calculations within the suppliers payroll system.
- Maintain payroll instruction guides and payroll schedules on a regular basis.
- Communicate updates and changes clearly and proactively to client payroll contacts and internal stakeholders.
- Create new country implementation guides for countries added to the GATE payroll footprint, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and scalability.
- Reconcile payroll reports to systems of record, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Document payroll and tax processes to ensure consistency, knowledge transfer, and audit readiness.
- Manage and support client invoicing, ensuring invoices reconcile with the number of payroll calculations performed.
- Assist with billing preparation when necessary and understand the financial impact of client service level agreements (SLAs).
- Assist in tracking revenue associated with payroll services.
- Assist with processing and reconciliation of supplier invoices for both payroll system and tax providers ensuring accuracy and proper approvals.
- Train, mentor, and provide ongoing guidance to new or less experienced team members.
- Serve as a subject matter resource for global payroll, taxability, and compliance-related questions.
- Support knowledge sharing through documentation, job aids, and informal coaching.
- Partner with internal teams (Payroll, Tax, Finance, Product, and Operations) and external vendors to support payroll delivery.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and documentation, with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Provide support on projects and other duties as directed, including new country launches and system or process enhancements.
- Demonstrate initiative in understanding how processes work and why, using insights to drive improvements.
- Assist with marketing-related efforts, including:
- Updating product features and service descriptions
- Creating and maintaining one-pagers
- Providing feedback on payroll-related video or training content
- Strong global payroll tax knowledge and understanding of local taxability rules
- International compensation knowledge
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical, organizational, and planning skills with a strong aptitude for numbers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially:
- Microsoft Excel (formulas, formatting, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, macros)
- Microsoft Word
- Strong systems proficiency with demonstrated ability to learn new technical systems quickly
- Taxability Matrix Accuracy: 100% of supported countries reviewed and updated annually, with timely interim updates for legislative changes.
- Legislative Change Implementation: 100% of payroll and tax changes implemented accurately by the required effective date.
- Payroll & Tax Error Rate: Zero material tax, gross-up, or withholding errors post-processing.
- Payroll-to-System of Record Reconciliation: ≥ 99.5% reconciliation accuracy with discrepancies identified and resolved within defined SLAs.
- Issue Resolution Timeliness: Payroll discrepancies resolved within agreed service timelines.
- Invoice Accuracy: ≥ 99% accuracy between client invoices and payroll calculations performed.
- Revenue Tracking Accuracy: Variance between expected and actual revenue within acceptable thresholds (e.g., ≤ 1%).
- Vendor Invoice Accuracy: Timely and accurate processing of supplier invoices with minimal rework.
- SLA Financial Awareness: Demonstrated understanding and proactive management of service level agreements and their financial impact.
- Payroll Guide Currency: 100% of payroll instruction guides and schedules reviewed and maintained annually.
- New Country Readiness: New country implementation guides delivered on or before go-live.
- Process Documentation: Key payroll and tax processes documented and kept audit-ready.
- Knowledge Transfer Effectiveness: Successful onboarding and reduced ramp-up time for new or less experienced team members.
- Stakeholder Satisfaction: Positive feedback from internal partners and client payroll contacts; minimal escalations.
- Process Improvements Delivered: Meaningful efficiency, accuracy, or control enhancements implemented annually.
- Project Delivery: Assigned projects delivered on time and within scope.
- Experience working with global payroll providers and tax advisors
- Prior experience supporting multi-country payroll operations
