What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct complex data analyses and statistical calculations to ensure compliance with environmental regulations
- Serve as project manager, overseeing schedules, budgets, and quality assurance activities for various projects
- Coordinate the preparation and review of technical reports, contracts, and grant proposals related to stormwater management
- Collaborate with local, state, and federal agencies, providing public education and responding to community concerns
- Supervise paraprofessional staff and provide training and performance evaluations
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, natural resources, hydrology, or a related field
- Minimum of five years of professional or technical experience related to water resources
- Valid North Carolina Class C Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record
- Strong analytical and statistical skills relevant to water quality data
- Proven experience in managing contracts and compliance with environmental regulations
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Proficiency in writing technical documents and reports related to water quality and stormwater management
- Experience implementing stormwater-related contracts in a governmental setting
- Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies for tracking contracts and projects
- Knowledge of stormwater/water quality regulations and policies
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with colleagues, contractors, and regulators
