What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations regarding transportation safety
- Serve as a DOT regulatory compliance subject matter expert for field operations, management, and senior leadership
- Directly interact with CMV operators to address safety and regulatory issues impacting transportation operations
- Maintain DOT drug/alcohol program compliance, including the FMCSA Clearinghouse
- Analyze hours of service and ensure appropriate exceptions are used
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a DOT regulatory compliance role managing a compliance program with a large multi-state fleet
- Experience leading an FMCSA, California BIT, Transport Canada, or provincial compliance review
- Experience leading, managing, and developing teams
- Knowledge of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
- Strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to handle multiple responsibilities effectively
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Knowledge in Transport Canada Regulations
- Experience leading projects
- Excellent customer service skills, both written and verbal
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to travel up to 20%
