Senior and varied existing relationships with USG, think tanks, peers, corporate, foundation, and multilateral grant donors preferred.
Track record of successful business development activities in support of growing technical portfolios.
Knowledge of international development, with a focus on resilience preferred.
Leadership abilities in developing, managing and working within matrixed teams.
Excellent capacity building, team building/management, and coordination skills.
Proven capacity to innovate and inspire innovation in colleagues.
Exceptional communication and representational skills, including oral, written, and public speaking.
Oversee and grow our institutional affiliations and memberships, identifying strategic opportunities for engagement by leadership at HQ, regional and country level, as well as technical experts.
Lead on the creation and implementation of external engagement strategies that prioritize brand building and support resource acquisition efforts with bilateral and multilateral donors, governments, foundations, and corporate funders.
Represent the organization in industry conferences, meetings and events to promote our resilience-based program model and share our learnings and impact within the broader aid community.
Develop, implement and maintain an institutional partnership framework and strategy to support funding diversification goals, including generating leads for strategic partnerships with the USG, multilateral institutions, think tanks, universities, and private sector entities, to build our brand, support competitive bid consortia and position for resources.
Oversee FH’s guest lecture series and market insights briefings to ensure that industry trends, issues and developments are channeled into the organization to inform our own policy, programs, learning, and operations.
Cultivate a wide-ranging network on resilience comprised of senior officials and staff, technical experts, donors, investors, practitioners, and local reformers from which to collect, synthesize and share insights, learnings, and recommendations within the organization to improve our approach to resilience within the program model, business model and/or shareholder-specific governance model.

A successful candidate will have the following:
FH is seeking an experienced Sr. Manager External Engagement who will provide dynamic leadership on FH’s partnerships with public sector donors, foundations, innovators, and the private sector to externally promote our new resilience-based program model. Will help to shape and influence the decision-making, policies, and practice of the US government, international institutions, and other key actors, in support of the people and communities we serve, as well as curate insights from within the industry to inform FH’s policies, programs, and operations.
