Overview
THE ROLE:
The Sr. Manager, Strategic Planning provides leadership, team management, and business insights to support long-range goals and enterprise strategy.
This role partners with leaders across the Commercial team to identify, prioritize, and complete strategic initiatives using economic, financial, and business analysis. A key responsibility includes leading the development of the company’s strategic plan—culminating in the annual update for the Board of Directors and guiding high-level decision-making. Additionally, the Sr. Manager works directly with the President to prepare quarterly board presentations and other executive-level materials. Collaborating with critical teams and international partners, this role helps define strategies, assess capability needs, and develop success metrics to ensure timely and effective delivery of initiatives.
This role operates with a high degree of autonomy, providing mentorship, support, and leadership to team members throughout the development and execution of key projects. Responsibilities may include defining and reporting on success metrics, conducting sophisticated analysis, and preparing executive-level communications. HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE: • Proactively provide quality business analysis and proposed actions for internal clients (corporate and regional)• Provide support for M&A including company screening, commercial analysis in collaboration with the Commercial Team, due diligence and valuation of investment and partnership opportunities.• Analyze new business opportunities, suggest growth strategies, conduct market research, draft business plans, stay current on industry trends.• Lead mini-consulting engagements on the top issues facing the company or a specific region.• Design and conduct analysis, often in close partnership with project members from business units.• Lead strategy projects from start to finish (i.e. generating a situation analysis, developing a work plan, driving the data collection process, analyzing the data to generate insights, driving consensus on key action plans, developing PowerPoint decks with a logical rendering of issues and solutions, and communicating recommendations to the executive management team.• Coordinate and contribute to the annual planning process and support regional teams in the development of their plans ensuring alignment with the overall company strategic plan.• Establish trust with management to enable effective communication of project work and a close/collaborative working relationship.

Qualifications
SKILLS AND BACKGROUND REQUIRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL: • 8+ years of experience in strategy• Experience running multiple projects and communications with multiple collaborators and business groups• Experience in leadership role leading direct reports• Clear demonstration of leadership in a work• Ability to identify opportunities for growth and subsequently take a leadership role in exploring new insights • In-depth experience in applying problem-solving skills (quantitative, conceptual, analytical) under general supervision• Effective ability to communicate ideas and analysis results both verbally and in writing to both analytical and non-analytical audience• Results oriented, multi-task projects, outstanding time management
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will directly oversee one or two Strategic Planning Sr. Analysts.
EDUCATION:• Bachelor’s degree in finance, marketing, economics, business, or statistics, or MBA with 5 years of experience.
