What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Develop, test, and refine quantitative models of electoral outcomes for independent candidates
- Analyze public opinion data to model constituencies and improve public service outcomes
- Design and implement surveys and political field experiments to enhance candidate effectiveness
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to integrate new datasets into scalable data pipelines
- Drive continuous improvement of political models for better decision-making and accuracy
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or a master's degree in a quantitative or social science field with 3+ years of applied work experience, or a PhD with demonstrable experience
- Strong background in applying data science, statistics, or computation to political contexts
- Experience with public opinion data and designing or analyzing surveys
- Proven ability to design and deploy field experiments or identify natural experimental opportunities
- Proficiency in statistical programming languages (preferably R or Python) and SQL
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience working with elected officials or government agencies in a data-intensive role
- Led the design or implementation of real field experiments through digital products
- Ability to turn research ideas into prototypes or minimum viable products for engineering teams
- Passion for actively addressing democracy-related challenges
