What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Serve as the administrator and team leader for regulatory matters related to Medicaid Advance Planning Documents (APDs)
- Direct and oversee contract staff responsible for the creation and compilation of APDs and supporting federal funding documents
- Collaborate with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to coordinate responses and submissions related to APDs
- Lead efforts for CMS certification of Medicaid IT systems and prepare operational and monthly status reports
- Act as a liaison between various business areas requiring APD funding and the MDHHS Financial Operations Administration staff
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in any major
- Four years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level
- Experience working with Medicaid or other public assistance programs
- Knowledge of federal and state statutes and regulations
- Experience managing large projects that involve complex coordination across multiple entities
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience working with Advance Planning Documents (APDs) or grant funding requests
- Familiarity with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and federal agency interactions
- Proven ability to navigate cultural differences in a professional setting
