      Overview:

      • Full-time , C ontinuing position

      • Salary HEW 9 ($130,748 + 17% Superannuation) and Flexible Working Arrangements

      • Based at the Melbourne CBD campus, and hybrid ways of working

      About You
      The Strategic Financial Business Partner is an SME who supports leaders across colleges, portfolios and controlled entities in the key delivery areas of:

      • Financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting
      • Research/Capital planning and business case review
      • Capital and project approval and monitoring
      • Financial, business, strategic and management advice and support

      The range of duties include but are not limited to

      • Establish and manage financial plans and budgets
      • Manage government grants, budget, allocation and reporting
      • Financial performance reporting and analytics – analyse results and explain movements, trends
      • and outliers
      • Transformation projects and accounting treatment of change
      • Project and program budget/forecast and ongoing monitoring
      • Business case reviews and approvals (research/internal CAPEX/OPEX Projects)
      • Post investment review

      To be successful in this position, you’ll have as a minimum:

      • Demonstrated experience in a Finance BP/Advisor role in a complex organisation ideally in the higher education sector with advanced understanding of financial controls and processes and systems
      • An excellent track record of solving complex and/or technical finance-related business issues using a variety of innovative approaches to drive culture, change and good business outcomes
      • Exceptional stakeholder management skills with proven ability to build effective relationships, work collaboratively with business leaders and multiple stakeholders at all levels
      • Ability to work with ambiguity on multiple projects and deliver to tight time frames .
      • Ability to think systemically and to connect strategically complex pieces of work both current and into the future while all the time minimising risk and ensuring compliance
      • An excellent communicator, both verbal and written with demonstrated expertise developing and presenting financial analysis, reports and plans to leaders in a clear and concise manner
      • Experience supporting change programs with the capability to solve complex problems where precedent may not exist
