SUMMARY
The primary purpose of the Student Extern position is to perform Human Resources Management business support functions commensurate with a college student’s Junior or senior year of study. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various Human Resources areas in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The goal for this position is to gain exposure and experience required to perform duties in the areas of Recruitment, Onboarding, Payroll, Benefits & Recognition, HR Technology & Reporting, HR Business Partners and the HR Service Center (additional HR areas if available). Participation in special projects in support of the Human Resources division staff will be required on an ad hoc basis.
Key Responsibilities
Initial duties will include extensive training in institutional systems and processes.
New Hire and Institutional Mandatory Training: Participates in Institutional Human Resources Training
Position will rotate throughout various HR departments throughout the duration of externship.
UKG Dimensions (formerly Kronos) : Assist with the analysis of Dimensions data.
Training, Mentoring, Cross Coverage:
Seek out cross functional training opportunities. Collaborate with department colleagues to learn more efficient ways to enhance deliverables.
Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred: E nrolled at an accredited university as a junior or senior in a bachelor’s degree program with a major in Human Resources Management, or enrolled in a master’s degree program while holding a bachelor’s degree with a major in Human Resources Management or the equivalent.
