What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Develop, implement, and evaluate substance abuse prevention programs in schools
- Provide consultation to school personnel on intervention strategies for students with substance abuse issues
- Deliver substance abuse prevention education classes and tobacco cessation services
- Collaborate with community agencies to coordinate additional services for students
- Maintain records and provide reports on services rendered to stakeholders
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in social work, Human Services, Health Education, or a related field
- Five years of successful experience in substance abuse education, prevention, and intervention
- Comprehensive knowledge of substance use prevention and intervention programs
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms
- Must hold or be qualified to hold a North Carolina Professional Educator's License
