Job Description

- Provide excellent customer service and detailed information regarding all camp programs, services, and facilities; either in-person, via email, or over the telephone.
- Support the needs of Summer Camp operations by acting as the main point of contact for telephone and email inquiries (camp information, registration, etc.).
- Ensure registration data is complete and accurate; contacting registrants to obtain missing registration information and correcting registration errors.
- Receive customer feedback, resolve concerns immediately where possible, or refer the customer to the appropriate person.
- Provide pertinent information to camp staff, Community Recreation Coordinator, Customer Service Representatives, etc.
- Prepare and distribute weekly camp packages to the camp Supervisors.
- Create weekly camp letters for all camps including theme days, special events, and relevant allergy information.
- Work with the Recreation Software Analyst and Community Recreation Coordinator to create new work instructions for Summer Camps using ActiveNet.
- Update the Summer Camp Hotline daily and respond to requests in a timely manner.
- Must be able to work from Tuesday June 17th, 2025 – Friday September 5th, 2025.
- The hours of work are Mondays from 7:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.to 4:30 p.m., as well as Tuesdays to Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Additional hours may be required between 6:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
- May be required to work weekends (Sundays).
- Completion of Grade 12 high school diploma.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in a customer service or a municipal/community centre setting.
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
- Current Standard First Aid with CPR C certification.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills are required.
- Able to communicate with diverse groups in various situations and maintain confidentiality with sensitive matters .
- Able to provide a clear Criminal Reference check with Vulnerable Sector screening that is current (completed within the last six months), upon being hired.
- Working knowledge of ActiveNet software is considered an asset.
- Rate of Pay: $30.80 - $33.48 per hour
- Hours of Work: This 3-month contract is a non-union position that works 35 hours per week. The hours of work are Mondays from 7:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.to 4:30 p.m., as well as Tuesdays to Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Additional hours may be required between 6:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. May be required to work weekends (Sundays).

Summer Camp Administrative Assistant - Temporary Full Time (3-month contract)
Reporting to the Community Recreation Coordinator, the Summer Camp Administrative Assistant supports the needs of the Summer Camp operations by acting as the main point of contact for in-person, telephone and email inquiries (camp information, registration, etc.) This position performs numerous administrative and customer service-related tasks in a timely manner, in adherence to Customer Service standards and according to Department policies and procedures.
