What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Handle complex child support cases and provide input on policies and training procedures
- Direct and train child support specialists and support staff in program duties
- Conduct interviews, gather financial data, and prepare legal documents for child support cases
- Present case facts and recommendations in court hearings under the guidance of Assistant County Attorneys
- Investigate and file court actions for modifications and contempt, preparing necessary legal documentation
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Associate's degree
- Minimum of five years of full-time relevant child support or legal services experience
- At least two years of experience as a Child Support Specialist or equivalent
- Strong understanding of current child support laws and policies
- Basic math skills for reviewing payments and balances, and calculating child support amounts
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with public service, client services, or customer service roles
- Familiarity with Minnesota's child support laws and regulations
- Ability to explain complex policies or legal issues to clients
- Experience interacting with diverse populations
- Proven track record in training or mentoring staff
