      TUI Group is recruiting a Sustainability Manager to be part of a world-class airline team to manage new projects and integrate innovation into the onboard airline experience and across the ground operations, across all TUI Group airlines and airports. The role focuses on accelerating the functional sustainability roadmap initiatives whilst partnering with multiple internal functions and external stakeholders.


      The role will require management oversight and has responsibility for building strategic relationships to design and implement new projects and change across the business aligned with the sustainability agenda.


      ABOUT THE JOB


      The role and purpose of the Sustainability Manager is to manage and drive the sustainability initiatives across multiple functions including Ground Operations, Cabin Services, Customer Experience, and Inflight Services functions. Working with all these teams to develop proactive proposals and recommendations for continuous improvement.


      As the Sustainability Manager, you will ensure management of strategic development projects with focus of and accelerating the sustainability agenda and initiative.


      You will work individually but in close cooperation with all internal stakeholders and when necessary, make use of the members of the wider airline functional teams, as well as across the other business units, to implement new change within the existing business operations. You will become a critical member of the airline team acting as the Sustainability change champion playing a key part in promoting sustainability by engaging communications, leading innovative projects, and driving initiatives, while complying with company and regulatory policy and procedures.


      Using a data driven analytical approach to improve our strategic decision making and to meet the group’s Sustainability Targets & Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) criteria, the role will drive activities related to reducing the environmental impact and applying sustainability principles, through the implementation and further development of the sustainability roadmap.


      The role is also responsible for ensuring compliance of our environmental management system (ISO 14001), working with the various leadership teams of any adverse compliance issues needing correction. This will include participating in environmental audits and facilitation and follow up of Audits and assisting in root cause analysis related to our environmental audits.


      The role requires the Sustainability Manager to also seek out opportunities constantly for organisational improvement with a focus on automation of reporting and innovative solutions which scales with business needs. The role also requires the ability to anticipate future trends and plan for consequences and changes.


      ABOUT YOU

      • Practical knowledge of airline operations, such as Ground Ops, Inflight and/or Cabin Ops would be preferred.

      • Knowledge of environmental health and safety standards.

      • Knowledge of sustainability certifications.

      • Extensive knowledge of the Windows Office suite of tools

      • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, in English and preferably a second language in Dutch, French or German.

      • Strong IT, Data analytics and Problem-solving ability.

      • Self-motivating, team player with the capability to lead, with good scheduling and time-management skills.

      • Preferably educated to degree level in a related field of expertise.

      • Ability to travel regularly to various TUI offices

      **This role can be based in Luton, Hanover, Stockholm, Rijswijk or Brussels and offers flexible virtual working arrangements.**
