      Job Description


      The Sustainability Manager will be leading the deployment of Accor & Raffles sustainability objectives within the hotel, ensuring that environmental & social ambitions are met. The Sustainability Manager will shape the future of sustainable luxury hospitality by acting as a forward-thinking stakeholder while integrating sustainability within the expectations of the refined Raffles experience. The Sustainability Manager will act as an avant-gardist, key local stakeholder that will also contribute to preserving local, cultural, and natural heritage.

      Reporting to the General Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

      • Develop and implement environmental strategies and action plans to ensure the hotel’s sustainability ambition:
      1. Energy efficiency improvements, green energy sourcing
      2. Sustainable F&B (food waste management, food sourcing, food trends)
      3. Plastic pollution reduction
      4. Diversity & Inclusion
      5. Support to local communities & charities
      6. Biodiversity protection
      • Coordinate all operational aspects to optimize sustainability performance: pollution control, waste management, energy consumption, water consumption
      • Train staff at all levels on environmental issues and good practices.
      • Liaise for the hotel's sustainable development with relevant bodies such as local authorities, public bodies and NGOs.
      • Report on environmental performance to internal and external auditors and regulatory bodies to meet regulations and secure sustainability certifications.
      • Develop and implement environmental management systems to continuously improve the hotel’s impacts on the environment.
      • Raising awareness of sustainable practices among guests.
      • Promote the hotel's sustainable performance locally and within the Accor group.
      • Oversee sustainable best practices in the surrounding community and within the group
      • Steer a support strategy to maximize the hotel’s contribution to protecting nature and developing local communities
      • Synchronize sustainability objectives with those of the General Manager and Accor group associates.
      • Synchronize with Raffles Chief Sustainability Officer.

      Qualifications


      • At least 5 years' experience in the hospitality field.
      • Proven experience in managing and implementing a CSR strategy in a similar role and organization.
      • Strong interest for environmental issues and sustainable projects.
      • Strong interest for luxury hospitality.
      • Passing on your passion to customers.
      • Solid general knowledge in luxury.
      • Attention to details.

      Competencies

      • CSR :
        • knowledge of global and local regulations around sustainability
        • capability to understand and analyze sustainability-related data
        • capability to assess sustainability impacts
      • Project management: experience in leading a project team around sustainability-related topics.
      • Engaging communication with good storytelling.
      • Strong ability to analyze and monitor performance, and assess potential issues, complexity, and opportunities.
      • Curiosity, listening skills
      • Good interpersonal skills
      • Budget management.
      • Strong ability and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

      Perfectly fluent in English
