- Utilize RGA's data, subject matter expertise, and advanced analytic capabilities to execute research projects and generate unique insights for RGA and our clients.
- Oversee pipeline of research projects globally and facilitate cross-divisional collaboration and communication.
- Develop and utilize framework for measuring success of R&D activities.
- Idea Generation: the process by which research project ideas are generated
- Idea Conversion: the process of filtering and prioritizing ideas to create a well-balanced portfolio of projects that align with RGA’s strategic goals
- Project Execution: the end-to-end execution of projects undertaken by the Global R&D team
- Diffusion: the dissemination and packaging of research findings to deliver value throughout the organization including thought leadership and proprietary intellectual property.
- Present research findings through various outlets including webcasts, industry meetings, client presentations, and internal or external publications.
- Ensure quality and depth of analysis of projects undertaken by Global R&D team.
- Mentor and train staff to build professional communication and presentation skills.
- Bachelor's Degree in Math, Finance, Statistics, Actuarial Science or related field
Fellowship, Society of Actuaries (FSA) or equivalent. - 15+ years insurance related experience
- 10+ years management experience

- Advanced degree in business, statistics, science, or related experience (CFA, MBA, Ph.D., M.D., etc.)

- Highly advanced technical research skills

Position OverviewDevelop and execute RGA’s Research & Development (R&D) strategy globally to enhance RGA’s brand in research and innovation. Manage RGA’s global research value chain to maximize the internal and external value created from research projects. Lead the biometric research, behavioral science, and emerging technology teams to deliver unique insights and proprietary intellectual property.
Responsibilities1. Develop and execute RGA’s global research & development strategy
2. Take primary responsibility for RGA’s research value chain
3. Lead the research centers of excellence of key areas of global strategic importance, including biometric research and experience analysis, behavioral science, and emerging technology.
4. Deliver research findings to internal and external clients
5. Promote a culture of innovation throughout RGA.
Coordinate with the Chief Innovation and Content Officer and collaborate with RGA offices to encourage innovation and spread ideas and insights throughout the organization.
6. Performs management duties of a remote team including, but not limited to: hiring, training, evaluating, coaching, guiding, mentoring and disciplining direct reports. Fosters a positive and engaged work environment. Mentors associates and gives guidance on associate development.
7. Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
8. Performs other duties as assigned.

RGA offers a comprehensive total rewards package including a range benefits and flexible plans. The pay range for this position is $219,365 – $334,930 per year in addition to an annual bonus. Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location.
