The compensation range for this role is a good faith estimate, it is estimated based on what a successful candidate might be paid. All offers presented to candidates are carefully reviewed to ensure fair, equitable pay by offering competitive wages that align with the individual's skills, education, experience, and training. The range may vary above or below the stated amounts.
Implement sourcing strategies to identify passive talent and build pipelines of potential candidates for current and future opportunities.
Recruit, screen and Interview candidates for select positions, and refer best-qualified candidates to hiring leader for consideration
Create and implement end-to-end candidate hiring processes to ensure a positive experience.
Ensure the staffing needs of the company are being met, with a long-term talent strategy in mind.
Understand and execute department processes to create and maintain an efficient hiring process, reducing overall time to fill.
Plan daily recruitment activities around the needs of various departments within the organization.
Work collaboratively with compensation and HR business partner (HRBP) to ensure that the Position Description (PD) is current and an accurate reflection of the position before posting
Coach and advise hiring leader on appropriate interview techniques, valid selection criteria, and developing and maintaining employment practices.
Ensure that selection decisions are consistent with employment laws and regulations.
Participate in and support recruitment events promoting employment at BCBSKS, such as job fairs, virtual career fairs, college recruiting, or other recruiting events.
High degree of human relations skills required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required with the ability to conduct training and give presentations.
Strong PC skills required.
Proficiency in documenting processes and keeping up with industry trends required.
Working knowledge of legal and compliance issues affecting employee recruitment and selection processes required.
Knowledge in other areas of human resources is preferred.
Working knowledge of social media outlets, applicant databases and professional networks required.
Demonstrated ability to counsel supervisors and managers on interviewing and selection matters required.
Demonstrated ability in supervising others preferred.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with employees at all organizational levels required.
High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in human resource management, psychology, industrial psychology, communications, business administration or related degree preferred.
Minimum of three years in talent acquisition as a recruiter required. Specific recruiting for highly specialized/technical roles strongly preferred.
Requires experience working with personal computers and applicant tracking systems in order to generate and manipulate new and existing (i.e. Workday) reports and other documentation.
Two years working with Workday ATS strongly preferred.
Experience in reviewing resumes/applications and interviewing/screening applicants or similar experience outside of an HR role required.
Experience with full cycle recruiting, using various interview techniques and evaluation methods required. Experience conducting training courses or similar classroom style group presentations preferred.
OFCCP knowledge preferred.
Experience with passive sourcing using AI & Boolean preferred.
Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
Ability to look at a computer screen for prolonged periods.
Occasional walking, bending, or reaching within the office environment.
Ability to lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, or reach.
Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
Manual dexterity to operate a keyboard, mouse, and other related tools.
Ability to work in a standard office environment, including attending meetings in person or virtually.

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for the recruitment and selection of qualified applicants for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas (BCBSKS). The position provides input into the overall hiring strategy of the organization to ensure our team consists of a diverse set of qualified individuals. By coordinating outreach efforts, sourcing and screening strong applicants and guiding candidates through the hiring process, the position plays a key role in attracting and retaining the best possible employees and ensuring a stable workforce.
