      JOB PERFORMANCE STANDARD - Talent Acquisition Specialist

      JOB SUMMARY:

      The Talent Acquisition Specialist implements recruiting and employee engagement initiatives that support and optimize the ongoing operational performance of the apartment communities. The Talent Acquisition Specialist, provides support, assists in new projects, and serves as a Live It Ambassador to all levels of employees within the company.

      SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:

      Must have prior recruiting experience. Must have strong verbal and interpersonal skills for developing and executing recruiting plans. The ability to network through industry contacts, association members, trade groups, social media, and internal HRP employees. In addition, the Talent Acquisition Specialist- Recruiter must have a solid understanding of how the company functions and have strong administrative skills for tracking and recordkeeping purposes. Entrepreneurial mindset, and detailed oriented. Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field and/or 2 years of direct recruiting experience preferred. Immediate computer skills are required.

      ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

      Essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following job specifications:

      Recruiting

      • Post and manage open positions – maintain quality control, efficient hiring, monitor, and assist hiring managers with job postings.
      • Provide recruiting assistance
        • Actively monitor the status of open positions and assist hiring managers with screening candidates by reviewing resumes and job applications and performing phone screenings.
        • Conduct phone screens & interviews for Leasing, Assistant Managers and Technicians and all other positions as needed.
        • Sending assessments to potential candidates as requested.
      • Provide enhanced support with recruiting and hiring needs for new property acquisitions and corporate positions.
      • Assist & execute hiring fairs in a variety of different markets as needed and offer Career Fair Support
      • Ensure hiring and selection are done in accordance with employment laws and regulations.
      • Create and execute recruiting plans to fill positions with qualified candidates and reduce time to fill.
      • Actively partner with other departments such as marketing and training to achieve company hiring and recruiting goals and initiatives.
      • Stay abreast of recruiting trends and best practices. Identify new resources, technology, employee benefits, etc. to support the company initiatives to attract, recruit, and retain top talent.
      • Network through various industry contacts, industry events, and human resources/recruiting events to advance the company’s recruiting platform.
      • Assist in creating recruiting training courses and training guides for hiring managers.

      Employee Engagement & Retention

      • Conduct occasional on-site property visits
      • Oversee channels of communication from current employees to see if there are recurring issues where TA could educate leadership on possible solutions.

      Admin & Reporting - Track measurable facets of the recruiting and hiring process. Set continuous improvement goals. Potential reporting tasks are as follows, but not limited to:

      • Email Bi-Weekly Carolina Profiles URL Document Update
      • Send Carolina Profile Assessments
      • Bi-Weekly Hawthorne’s Open Positions Report
      • Regional Manager Reports
      • Exit Interview Summary
      • Manage Indeed Accounts
      • Set up new Indeed accounts
      • Complete monthly Chargebacks

      Strategic Initiatives

      • Identify and execute process improvements, creating solutions and efficiencies for all recruiting and hiring processes.
      • Assist in executing new recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and other human resources projects and initiatives.

      SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities

      FLSA STATUS: Exempt

      OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

      Hours of Work: 8:00am/8:30am to 5:00pm/5:30pm Monday through Friday. Schedule may vary. Extended hours may be required during peak periods to meet business needs.

      PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to perform the physical functions of the position, which may include but are not limited to: ability to effectively communicate with team members, supervisors, vendors and service providers. Must be able to see, hear, talk, sit, stand, walk, reach, climb, stoop, kneel and crouch. Must be able to lift a minimum of 60 lbs. as needed.

      COMMUNICATION: Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form with Senior Leadership team, Community Managers, Regional Managers, Corporate Team members and outside vendors.

      TRAVEL: Overnight travel is required to attend career fairs, assist with in person recruiting and to attend company sponsored events such as conferences, training events, etc.

      EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field and 2 years of recruiting experience preferred.

      PRE-EMPLOYMENT: Drug testing and background screening. Successfully complete pre-employment psychological and basic skills exam, including interest patterns.

      LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, write and verbally communicate in English.

      REASONING ABILITY: Has the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.

      MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Advanced knowledge of mathematics required. Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations. Ability to calculate interest, fractions, percentages, and ratios.

      COMPUTER SKILLS: Proficient in Microsoft Office and working knowledge of applicant tracking and HRIS systems.
