      Job Summary:

      As a member of the HR Talent Development team, the Talent Development Partner will actively create and maintain talent development opportunities that meet compliance objectives, promote equity and inclusion, and align with YGS initiatives. The role will collaborate across all of our Centers of Excellence to develop and implement strategic HR compliance training priorities throughout the association with primary focus on our Youth Development COE

      The Talent Development Partner: Compliance is responsible for building and implementing safety and compliance training programs. This can include developing or updating training modules, leading live trainings, ensuring content is delivered on service days and that those unable to attend meet requirements, and collaborating with the Talent Development team on improving association wide systems such as performance management and review systems.

      These responsibilities support the YGS Employee Experience, following the whole employee life cycle and developing strategies to attract, support, and retain YGS staff.

      Hiring Range: $67,724.80 - $70,480/year

      Responsibilities

      Training

      • Collaborates with Talent Development Director, Talent Development team, Risk Management, Youth Development, and other stakeholders to ensure safety and compliance training and learning programs meet the needs of groups, departments, branches, and stakeholders
      • Administer CPR Staff Training Program including recruiting instructors, ensuring prospective trainers complete training, coordinate class schedule, lead vendor relationship with RedCross, tracking staff training completions, updating curriculums and communicating changes with YGS. This work is completed in collaboration with the Talent Development Coordinator. In addition, this role will be a CPR trainer to support leading CPR trainings as needed across our organization.
      • Administer Child Abuse Prevention (CAP) training program in partnership with Risk Management and Youth Development, including coaching prospective trainers through training process, providing feedback to trainers, scheduling of classes, identifying and communicating with CAP instructors, and logging completion records. Administrative tasks are performed in collaboration with the Talent Development Coordinator. In addition, this role will be a CAP trainer to support leading CAP trainings as needed across our organization.
      • Partner with groups, departments, branches, and other stakeholders to create, launch, and/or maintain and update training and learning programs such as virtual asynchronous, virtual or in-person compliance and safety learning opportunities.
      • Serve as an organizational expert with learning management system, Brainier, and learning vendor partners. Problem-solve in systems when needed.
      • Create assessment and reporting tools for trainings in order to measure training effectiveness and to support a culture of compliance.
      • Maintain and update organization-wide trainings such as Annual Refresher.
      • Serve on the Child Abuse Prevention Policy and Curriculum Committee, acting as a voice for Talent Development and enacting curriculum changes as needed.

      Talent Development

      Support Talent Development team by collaborating and supporting their work along the following:

      • Actively participate in the development and implementation of strategic talent development efforts focused in compliance areas, resulting in talent development opportunities for employees across the employee lifespan; and
      • Lead and facilitate development workshops such as Supervisor Lunch and Learn Sessions in partnership with Talent Development team.

      Overall Partnering

      • Maintain and communicate up-to-date and accurate HR information to all staff; develop and foster a feedback loop with all HR leaders to continuously improve HR processes.
      • Develop HR policies, procedures, and best practices; Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation to ensure compliance with applicable local and federal employment laws.
      • Serve as a collaborative team member by supporting other areas of HR and the Talent Development Team during peak times of the year
      • Attend trainings, participate in HR meetings, and engage in other professional development opportunities to develop a strong understanding of HR policies and industry high-impact practices.
      • Other duties as assigned.

      Work Environment

      This job operates in an office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. We are currently working on a hybrid model working 2-3 days in person. This role requires working at our Association Office located in Downtown Seattle as well as commuting to centers/program sites. Depending on training delivery needs, this role may have a higher number of in person days to facilitate trainings.

      The Association Office working office space includes an open office concept with multiple staff working in one room. Desks are adjustable to various heights.

The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products, supplies, and training equipment up to 30 pounds.

      Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

      This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are typically Monday through Friday, typically 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties require.

      Travel

      This is a regional role supporting multiple locations in the Seattle area. Reliable transportation to support frequent travel within King County required.

      Qualifications

      • 2+ years of Human Resources experience related to training, talent development, or learning & development
      • 2+ years of experience developing curriculum and leading strategy to design, audit, iterate, and evaluate training and talent development initiatives
      • Knowledge of and previous experience with diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.) and a commitment to building equity, justice, and anti-racism into work practices
      • Knowledge of HR policies and high impact practices as they pertain to training and compliance
      • Passionate about creating highly-interactive and engaging learning environments; engaging facilitation and presentation skills
      • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally in a heavily matrixed organization or comparable experience managing multiple relationships and projects at a time
      • Superior customer service with strong written and verbal communication skills and active listening
      • Intermediate computer skills and experience and comfort with Microsoft Office suite

      Preferred Education and Experience

      • Spanish language skills
      • Experience leading CPR, First Aid, and/or Child Abuse Prevention trainings
      • Experience working with Brainier or other Learning Management Systems
      • HR Experience serving in a mission-centered or community-engaged nonprofit organization in the field of childcare or social services is preferred
      • Prior education in adult education or curriculum development
      • Ability to speak any language in addition to English
