  POSITION SUMMARY

  This position will assist the General Manager in overseeing the day-to day operations of Messina Hof Grapevine. Responsible for the growth, direction, and maintenance of Messina Hof Grapevine.

  Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Assist the General Manager in all operations and duties of Messina Hof Grapevine
  • Responsible for the personnel management and training, including but not limited to, interviewing potential candidates, overseeing training of new part-time associates, and management of ongoing part time associates
  • Facilitate Messina Hof’s high standard of cleanliness and organization in all areas of the Wine Bar including, food areas, deck area, preparation areas and restrooms
  • Develop sales, achieve sales goals and control expenses to make the Wine Bar most profitable and run within budgetary guidelines
  • Responsible for inventory control and warehouse management, including but not limited to, monthly truck orders, EOM wine inventory and quarterly Gift Shop and Gourmet Food Inventory
  • Conduct the shopping and oversee the preparation of all food purchased and used in the MHGV Deli Food Program.
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate and in budget costs on all prepared foods
  • Responsible for cash handling duties including making cash transactions, verifying cash drawer, and giving change, as well as making cash deposits and preparing the weekly packet that is sent to Messina Hof Bryan
  • Oversee the scheduling for all Messina Hof Grapevine staff, including shift needs from the on-call staff members
  • Assist with the budgeting preparation
  • Responsible for providing a weekly report to the Regional General manager
  • Responsible for opening and closing procedures
  • Communicate with guests, co-workers, and business associates in a courteous and professional manner. Must be people and hospitality oriented
  • Engage in Wine Club and VIP customer service activities, database maintenance, and duties to enhance the retention of Wine Club and VIP memberships
  • Assist the Wine Club and VIP Sales Manager in the execution of in-house Wine Club and VIP events, such as VIP Receptions and Wine Club Pick-Up Parties, to maximize attendance and sales
  • Communicate and educate information that is passed from the Wine Club and VIP Sales Manager to the staff at Messina Hof Grapevine
  • Perform other duties as required including assisting other departments as needed

  POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  Competency Statement(s)

  • Related degree and/or 3-5 years related experience
  • Good management and leadership skills and ability to supervise
  • Ability to operate a personal computer and be familiar with a variety of computer programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, POS, etc. Ability to run registers, post daily sales and reconcile monies. Ability to read P&L’s and control cost centers
  • Must have active TABC and Food Handler certifications at all times
