      As the nation’s leading pub, cider and beer company and the name behind a host of brilliant brands, we’re looking for equally brilliant people to help us on our journey to building a better future.

      There’s so much more to HEINEKEN than meets the eye and right now, we’re looking for a UK Tax Manager to join our Finance Team!

      About the role

      Reporting into the Head of UK Tax you will be an integral member of our UK Tax team, partnering with stakeholders to help drive business initiatives and offering advice on UK tax matters, whilst providing general support to our Head of UK Tax in advising on planning opportunities and identifying areas of potential exposure.

      You’ll act as HUK’s first point of contact with UK tax authorities and work closely with our wider Global Tax department.

      The primary focus of this role is to provide effective business partnering to Heineken colleagues on UK tax matters, including engaging professional advisors to support transactions as appropriate and obtaining clearance from HMRC where necessary. You will advise and make recommendations to colleagues on tax consequences of business developments and influencing where necessary to ensure that business is conducted in as tax efficient a manner as possible.

      So what will you be doing? Here’s some of the key responsibilities.

      • You will lead the tax-planning process on specific transactions, whether tax initiated or commercial transactions initiated elsewhere in the group, with a view to minimising the tax liability of the Heineken UK group while remaining compliant with UK and overseas tax law.
      • You will also provide ad hoc support to other members of the team on compliance matters as necessary, working with the Head of UK Tax to ensure that the Heineken UK Group is compliant with the Heineken Tax Control Framework and HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) laws and regulations.
      • Coach individuals in the business and shared service centre on tax issues as required, carrying out tax training and education programmes whilst working with business colleagues to drive continuous improvement in processes and procedures and helping to ensure tax-related IT systems are maintained and up-to-date.

      Who we’re looking for

      We’re looking someone who is CA or CTA qualified, with extensive experience within the tax function of a professional firm, in-house tax department or HMRC.

      You’ll have excellent communication skills, able to effectively build and maintain networks and relationships with key stakeholders.

      If you;

      • Are a qualified accountant or chartered tax advisor.
      • Are comfortable challenging business decisions in an objective and independent manner.
      • Have a proven ability to organise, plan and work with a high degree of autonomy

      Then this could be the role for you!

      Our Ways of Working

      Heineken’s Global Purpose is to “brew the Joy of True Togetherness to inspire a better world” and to fulfil this we believe in working closely with each other and collaborating f2f when we can. To enable this, we ask colleagues to be in the office Tuesdays and Thursdays and one other day of colleague’s choice.

      Our Benefits

      As part of the team, along with your salary you’ll also receive;

      • 15% Flexible Benefits allowance (can be taken as cash)

      • an annual bonus

      • Company funded Private Medical Healthcare

      • double matched pension (up to 10%)

      • 35 days holiday

      • A monthly case of our delicious ciders and beers!

      • Comprehensive Opportunities to develop.

      You’ll also get the opportunity to get involved with one of our colleague networks where groups of colleagues from all over the business work together to ensure we’re always working towards being a diverse and inclusive company.

      The Application

      If you like what you’ve read and want to explore this opportunity further, please apply as soon as possible. We may close vacancies early where we receive significant numbers of applications, so don’t delay!

      If you need any adjustments made to support your application, for example if you require information in different formats, or if you have any accessibility issues, then we’re more than happy to review our processes – please feel free to get in touch with us as recruitment@heineken.co.uk.

      In all likelihood the ideal candidate for this role won’t meet every single requirement in this advert, in fact we all need the opportunity to grow and develop in role.
