      Position Overview:

      We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join our mid-sized accounting firm. In this key leadership role, you will oversee and manage both business and personal tax preparation and tax planning for our diverse client base. The position involves planning and supervising the entire tax preparation process, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, and providing strategic tax planning advice to clients. You will work closely with clients and staff to deliver high-quality tax services, identify tax-saving opportunities, and resolve complex tax issues. A strong knowledge of tax preparation is essential, as you will be responsible for guiding and reviewing the work of the tax team, maintaining up-to-date expertise on tax laws, and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all filings.       Responsibilities:

      · Manage and oversee the preparation and review of individual, trust, gift, partnership, and corporate tax returns

      · Serve as a key point of contact for clients; proactively communicate with clients regarding tax returns and other tax related issues

      · Conduct technical tax research and present findings and recommendations to clients and internal team

      · Identify and implement tax saving opportunities for business clients and owners

      · Lead, mentor and review work of tax accounting staff; provide ongoing feedback and support staff personal development

      · Ensure accuracy and compliance by reviewing client financial records and making appropriate adjustments

      · Manage multiple clients, prioritize deadlines, and coordinate staff to ensure timely delivery of services

      · Display skill, judgement, initiative, and attention to detail and independently handle multiple assignments

      · All other responsibilities as assigned by Partners

      Requirements

      • BS or BS degree in Accounting
      • Active CPA license required
      • 10 -15 years of progressive public accounting experience with a focus on tax
      • Previous leadership experience, demonstrating the ability to manage a team and foster a collaborative work environment
      • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
      • QuickBooks experience in both desktop and online versions
      • Detail oriented with strong mathematical, analytical and organizational skills
      • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and lead a team
      • Expertise in tax preparation software; Prosystem FX Tax experience highly preferred
      • Effective communicator with the ability to ask questions in a professional, clear and concise manner
      • Strong work ethic, integrity and reliability
      • Professionalism and the ability to maintain client confidentiality
