What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct privacy assessments and compile reports on data governance impact for state agencies
- Collaborate with the Chief Data Officer and Deputy to formulate enterprise data plans and initiatives
- Provide analytical support to data owners through data analysis and visualization
- Assess compliance maturity levels of state agencies' data practices and policies
- Perform requirements gathering for data projects and limited programming tasks
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field
- 0-3 years of progressive work experience in computer technology, or 4-6 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
- Basic to intermediate programming skills in SQL, Python, R, or similar languages
- Knowledge of data privacy regulations and governance frameworks
- Proficiency in data analysis techniques and data visualization tools
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Hands-on experience with data integration tools and collaborating with data owners
- Familiarity with business intelligence and reporting platforms such as Power BI or Tableau
- Experience with large data systems, scripting languages, AI, and visualization techniques
- Strong report writing and documentation skills
- Ability to translate complex data concepts for diverse audiences
