- Support sales by building rapport with data center users, designers, builders, and influencers.
- Ultimately become a trusted adviser to those accounts.
- Conduct technical presentations to the market, including lunch and learns, seminars, webinars and conference talks.
- Serve as a front line contact for technical UPS accounts mentioned above.
- Insure the technical needs and requests are addressed.
- Manage sophisticated opportunities during the conception, design and engineering stage.
- Technical liaison between strategic accounts and the Toshiba factory.
- Work closely with the Product Managers and Application Engineers to advise best solutions for a customers application.
- Facilitate necessary webinars, conference calls, joint sales calls to support the customer.
- Growing existing accounts by building rapport and detecting new opportunities within the account.
- Growing customer base by building new relationships and engaging the Regional Sales Manager in the proposal stage.
- Grow personal skills and knowledge by studying new market trends, participating in educational opportunities, sales trainings, conferences, etc.
- Maintain CRM with account activities, projects, contacts, etc.
- 10+ years working in a UPS or Data Center engineering role.
- Ability to quickly articulate technical and business value propositions
- Proficiency with technical report writing
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including outstanding presentation skills
- Self-reliant, adaptable, decisive, and professional, able to effectively multi-task in a dynamic environment
- Understands and is a key contributor to a team environment
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
- Understands UPS technology as well as the Data Center environment
- Sales Engineering or account management experience preferred

Job Summary:
As a key member of the UPS Regional Sales Team, the Regional Technical Specialist uses engineering, technical, sales, and customer service skills to enhance UPS customer loyalty and facilitate new sales in the Region. The Regional Technical Specialist will participate in multiple facets of a large system and/or strategic UPS sale including: technical presentations, design review meetings and assisting with application design. The Regional Technical Specialist has sales support responsibility for both new and existing accounts. The position reports to the UPS National Sales Manager. Electrical or Mechanical Engineering degree required.
