What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide on-site technical support to faculty, students, and staff within the Chemistry Department
- Manage and administer desktop and laptop computers, including hardware installation and software deployment
- Configure and maintain instrument interfaces and ensure compliance with IT security standards
- Troubleshoot complex technical problems and implement solutions with minimal oversight
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of systems and support processes
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Demonstrated knowledge and hands-on experience with Windows operating system configuration and troubleshooting
- Experience managing desktop and laptop endpoints, including hardware and software support
- Knowledge of IT security issues and ability to implement security practices
- Ability to understand and configure computer hardware, software, networks, and operating systems
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients of varying technical knowledge
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in a technical computer-oriented field or related certifications, or equivalent experience
- Experience with Active Directory user provisioning and troubleshooting
- Working knowledge of Mac operating system support and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with specialized scientific instrumentation and remote support delivery
- Demonstrated supervisory or mentoring experience or willingness to train other IT support staff
