What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Analyze complex financial data related to the Department's budget, funding, and reconciliations
- Manage cash flow to support financial operations and identify significant trends
- Generate monthly and annual financial reports for monitoring and reconciliation
- Work with various accounting systems, including FI$Cal and GMS, to gather and analyze data
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance when handling protected enrollee information
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Experience in financial, budgetary, and accounting roles
- Proficiency with the Financial Information System for California (FI$Cal)
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Must reside in California for telework eligibility
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Familiarity with state accounting processes and preparing financial statements
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Experience working under pressure with tight deadlines
