What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Solicit accounts through select agents and brokers and evaluate potential new business
- Serve as the primary contact with assigned agents and brokers, providing comprehensive sales expertise
- Analyze and underwrite prospective accounts while managing a book of business
- Develop and maintain relationships with accounts and agencies, coordinating with other functional units
- Promote employer products and services to existing and potential customers
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 5 years of related work experience, preferably in multi-line middle market underwriting
- Demonstrated knowledge of insurance concepts and terminology
- Previous experience with underwriting large complex accounts
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Completion or in progress of insurance courses such as IIA and CPCU
- Experience handling accounts in construction, manufacturing, wholesale, real estate, and service industries
