What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct legal research and investigations related to civil rights violations
- Initiate and maintain civil actions, negotiating and monitoring settlement agreements
- Engage with external stakeholders and partners to address systemic civil rights violations
- Collaborate with other divisions within the Office of the Attorney General
- Prepare and draft briefs, motions, and other legal documents
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of five years of experience in investigation, litigation, or appellate practice
- Current or pending admission to the Maryland Bar or ability to waive in without delay
- Substitution of up to three years of related experience in policy or civil rights work for litigation experience
- Strong writing skills, including experience in drafting legal documents
- Ability to work comfortably with diverse communities

- Experience in developing affirmative investigations or handling complex legal cases
- Familiarity with best practices in legal research and investigative techniques
