- Working with the Sales Managers to collate drivers and actions behind sales out performance by each account.
- Communicating and presenting back these findings to the business with the relevant shopper insights to help drive forward future performance Utilising all resources to identify relevant shopper and commercial insights from within the Clorox company and external agencies across all categories and strategic markets Managing the Market Research budget and driving the selection process at each annual review, as well as identifying new data and reports to drive the business.
- Working closely with the Human Insights team to bring the voice of the consumer to our commercial sell out data.
- Working with HI to commission research that helps us understand our customers better and drive future growth Work with Shopper Marketing Insights Analyst to understand data available from online channels and how it can be applied to drive recommendations for offline and to shape the wider ecomm strategy Carry out ‘lessons learned’ process, identifying and recommending new solutions to increase the effectiveness of our range by retailers
- Maintain quarterly rate of sale data input to the master plan.
- Use data to provide support for Sale Managers and Shopper Marketing and challenge Sales Managers and Shopper Marketing using insights.
- Working closely with Shopper Marketing and Sales team to ensure maximum margins and profits are achieved by using category and shopper insights to ensure that the assortment for each of our retailers is tailored to the channel needs
- For our win retailers curate commercial and shopper insight that showcases Burt’s Bees as the category captain across our strategic categories Identify white space opportunities for all categories using available data and frameworks that enable us to make informed recommendations to the business on future growth opportunities
- Ensure data sits at the heart of our annual strategic review, utilizing this data to identify profit pools and feed into the NPD process
- Lead the range review process by preparing sales, turn rate, trends, shopper and consumer insights for retailer’s range reviews. Produce a holistic category review and provide a strong augmentation vs. competitor’s products to win new shelf space
- Using the data, market trend and business objectives to participate in key account retail range process
- Contribute to the effectiveness of the new category merchandising display layout, ensuring the layout is shopper friendly with ease of navigation
- Account analytics support
- Provide analytical insights into account performance using available data.
- Support Shopper Marketing Insight Analyst in tracking, score carding for actionable insights (e-comm, AMPS) relative to plan.
- Manage the relationship and output of all data suppliers, looking to improve consistently to achieve the optimum solution and service.
- 5 plus years data insights experience within an FMCG company, demonstrating the ability to turn data into insight into actionable plans.
- Excellent MS Office inc. Excel & Powerpoint Skills

Your role at Clorox:
This is a Maternity Cover (November 2023 to July 2024 inclusive).
The Senior Category Insights Manager will drive the internal and external conversations with regards to opportunities for growth for Clorox brands both offline and online and across core strategic markets. These conversations will be fuelled by overseeing the creation and input of data from numerous commercial and customer data sources, turning it into actionable insights.
Sources include external syndicated data (e.g. IRI), external customer data (e.g. EPOS data), commissioned qualitative and quantitative consumer data (e.g. Brand Health Tracker/ Shopper Surveys) and internal sales-in data (compiled through Salesforce), plus specific analytics for the EComm channel (Amazon, D2C).
Outputs include strategic category reviews, input into Strategy Letter, and ad hoc category reviews in response to specific business needs (including TURF analysis to help identify growth opportunities in our strategic categories)
