What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Manage large and complex statewide transportation projects utilizing non-traditional design and delivery methods
- Coordinate with various stakeholders, including local agencies and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA)
- Research and develop innovative project methods and maintain guidelines for statewide design and delivery
- Operate independently with limited guidance throughout all project phases
- Function as a statewide resource on innovative contracting procedures
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Possession of a bachelor of science degree in engineering; civil engineering preferred
- Minimum of five years of professional experience as a Transportation Engineer
- Must possess a registered professional engineering license as required by the State of Michigan
- Experience equivalent to a Transportation Engineer P11, Transportation Engineer 12, or Transportation Engineering Licensed Specialist 13
- Valid driver's license
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Direct experience working on projects that include non-traditional or innovative contracting methods
- Experience in construction-related activities and project management
- Ability to give presentations to large audiences (more than 15 people)
