      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Identify trauma patients meeting registry inclusion criteria and abstract clinical data from medical records
      - Code diagnoses, procedures, and injuries using ICD-10 coding and other appropriate coding schemes
      - Perform data analysis and validation on Trauma Registry data to ensure quality and integrity
      - Prepare and submit Trauma Registry records to state and national databases in compliance with regulations
      - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in trauma-related meetings and committees

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Associate Degree in Health Information Management or related field of study
      - Minimum of two (2) years of experience in medical record coding or relevant clinical experience
      - Certification in RHIT, RHIA, CCS, or CSTR preferred or eligible
      - AAAM course certification (AIS coding) and Trauma Registry Course required within one (1) year
      - Extensive knowledge of ICD-10 coding, AIS coding, E-codes, and medical terminology

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - AHIMA or AAPC coding certification, CSTR, or other healthcare-related licensure
      - Experience working with Trauma Registry software and data submissions
      - Strong analytical skills with the ability to report data effectively
      - Familiarity with performance improvement initiatives in a healthcare setting
