What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Monitor trending storylines among baseball fans and create engaging written content
- Collaborate with editorial and mobile alerts teams for timely article publishing
- Write and edit push notifications through the MLB App and handle web production tasks
- Conduct statistical research and analysis to support content creation
- Produce clean, concise, and accurate copy under tight deadlines
What is Required (Qualifications):
- In-depth knowledge of baseball, including current players and trends
- Strong understanding of the baseball media landscape and social media navigation
- Exceptional news judgment and ability to write quickly and accurately
- Familiarity with SEO best practices and content management systems
- Experience conducting research using various baseball statistics resources
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Proficiency in advanced metrics and tools such as Statcast
- Previous experience in sports writing or editing
- Familiarity with web publishing and content management systems
- Strong attention to detail regarding spelling, grammar, and style
- Ability to work during early mornings (ET) and on weekends
