Actalent is hiring for a Turnaround Manager/Coordinator for a 2 year contract. Our client is a refinery gearing up for two turnarounds; a smaller one in March 2024 and a big one in 2025. This candidate can be a manager or coordinator and must have refinery or petrochemical experience in turnarounds. Per diem x 7 days and competitive pay is available.

The TA Manager/Coordinator will be responsible for scoping, planning, cost estimating, scheduling, performance tracking, and coordinating the execution of Turnaround work, Project work and other major Maintenance work, as required. You must be a detail-oriented, results-driven individual with a commitment to quality, accuracy and the ability to organize and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to work in both a team environment and on self-directed tasks are necessary.

You will:

• Facilitate TA Scope development process and track scope in a well-organized master database.
• Plan Turnaround Work Orders:
• Provide a clear, complete description of work scope.
• Provide an objective estimate of labor needs and duration.
• Identify and requisition necessary materials.
• Consider and recommend the best resources to execute each job.
• Assemble work packages including scope, drawings, photo’s, specifications, etc.
• Input detailed Work Tasks in Work Orders (Maximo or SAP) and Scheduling system (Primavera).
• Act as owner of the Exchanger Data Sheets and the Critical Check Valve Program.
• Prepare time line schedules and produce reports for tracking of turnaround planning and execution progress.
• Generate total turnaround Plan, which includes cost estimates and overall turnaround duration in days.
• Identify Critical Path and Near Critical Path jobs; refine schedules for these and facilitate group schedule reviews.
• Assemble and lead cross-refinery turnaround pre-planning and execution teams.
• Conduct "what if" cases to evaluate critical path risk and to estimate cost and turnaround man hour variables.
• Assist departments in evaluating work load and assignment of Work Tasks.
• Generate Bid Packages and solicit appropriate Contractors for consideration.
• Analyze and evaluate Contractor capability, time estimates, manpower and cost for completion of Work Tasks; Recommend Contractors for selection based on these evaluations.
• Define the TA Organization for the Planning phase and the Work Execution phase.
• Coordinate and communicate with department supervision in Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Environment/Safety and Contractor Coordinators turnaround Work Tasks, scope changes and schedules to ensure well-coordinated work execution.
• Generate revised reports of new cost estimates and schedules during the turnaround, utilizing up-to-date progress information and incorporating new or revised scope changes.
• Prepare a post audit of turnaround which compares actual versus Plan man-hours and costs.
• Maintain standard job plans for future Turnarounds.
