What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Manage an assigned underwriting team and enforce corporate and regional underwriting guidelines
- Model effective underwriting practices for various accounts and implement strategies to drive profitability
- Coordinate with underwriters and management in agency planning and review processes
- Oversee agency relationships, focusing on improving and growing profitable connections
- Monitor team performance and ensure adherence to guidelines and service directives
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in insurance or business administration, or equivalent relevant experience
- Minimum of six years of commercial lines underwriting experience
- CPCU designation or other underwriting-related designation(s) preferred
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present effectively to groups
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in risk analysis and problem-solving within the insurance industry
- Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office and social media
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines
- Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to motivate a team
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle report per company standards
