What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Evaluate client-submitted data for businesses interested in joining the client's master health plan
- Set risk-based pricing and secure any missing information for underwriting requests
- Identify inconsistencies in data and enter data into underwriting tools
- Communicate directly with clients and insurance carrier partners regarding underwriting matters
- Review new underwriting requests within a time-sensitive window of 1-3 hours of receipt
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High attention to detail
- Strong business communication skills
- Ability to quickly learn new processes and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Outlook
- High degree of responsibility and autonomy
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Prior experience in individual, small group, or large group medical underwriting
- Experience in health insurance agency/brokerage settings
- Working knowledge of the Affordable Care Act
- Experience within the PEO (Professional Employer Organization) and/or Association industry
- Understanding of HIPAA rules and regulations
