What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Administer and monitor underwriting rules, guidelines, and insurance laws and regulations
- Develop and maintain relationships with distributors (agents & brokers) to support business retention and acquisition
- Proactively seek renewal and new account opportunities
- Complete detailed opportunity assessments with key distributors to identify growth opportunities
- Make broker/customer and on-site calls with a planned and well-prepared purpose
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 3 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area, or 6 or more years in the Claims or Underwriting Support area
- Knowledge of lines of business and legal and regulatory guidelines
- Experience working within time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong analytical and marketing skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Bachelor's Degree
- Commercial Construction Casualty underwriting experience and broker relationships in the South/Southeast region
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills
- CPCU and ARM designations are a plus
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
