What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Serve as a customer industry advocate focused on improving the customer experience by understanding their risks and offering tailored insurance solutions
- Conduct exposure evaluations, risk assessments, and pricing using a disciplined approach
- Utilize risk insights and data to inform decisions at the point of sale
- Develop and maintain relationships with agencies and brokers in the local market
- Underwrite, analyze, and generate new and renewal business while adhering to underwriting rules and regulations
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 3 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area, or equivalent experience in Claims or Underwriting Support
- Knowledge of line(s) of business and legal and regulatory guidelines
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Strong understanding of time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business
- Knowledge of underwriting philosophy and techniques
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Bachelor's Degree
- 3 or more years of Underwriting experience in Middle Market or larger
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to effectively assess risk
- Superior skills in relationship building, active listening, and needs analysis
- CPCU and ARM designations are a plus
