      Job Description:

      Join Job Duck as a Bilingual Legal Assistant / Paralegal and play a key role in supporting a boutique immigration law practice focused on humanitarian relief matters. In this position, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality legal documentation, coordinating case progression, and ensuring every filing meets the highest standards of accuracy and compliance. Your work will have a direct impact on clients navigating complex immigration processes, making attention to detail and strong legal writing essential to success.       Monthly Compensation: 1,150 to 1,220 USD

      Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
      • Follow up with clients regarding missing information, outstanding documents, and case updates.
      • Communicate directly with clients to collect required documentation and supporting evidence.
      • Review legal documentation to ensure consistency, completeness, and compliance with filing requirements.
      • Support workflow consistency while managing approximately 20 active cases per month.
      • Collaborate with attorneys and internal team members to support efficient case progression.
      • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive client information with professionalism and discretion.
      • Monitor filing deadlines and ensure timely completion of all assigned tasks.
      • Update case notes, documentation logs, and status reports within internal systems.
      • Prepare and organize immigration forms and supporting evidence for attorney review.
      • Assemble complete immigration application packages with accuracy and attention to detail.
      • Prepare cover letters, legal correspondence, and supporting documentation for immigration filings.
      • Draft affidavits, declarations, and supporting legal narratives for humanitarian immigration cases.
      • Organize and maintain digital case files using legal case management software.
      • Manage assigned cases from intake through submission readiness while maintaining accurate case records.

      Requirements:

      • Schedule: Monday through Friday

      • Working Hours: Approximately 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM EST (flexible within the 10:30 AM - 7:30 PM EST range)

      Experience
      • Prior experience as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant is required
      • Previous experience handling U.S. immigration matters is required
      • Direct experience with humanitarian immigration relief cases, particularly VAWA and T-Visa petitions, is strongly preferred
      • Mandatory experience drafting affidavits and legal declarations
      • Experience preparing immigration forms and supporting documentation
      • Experience working in a law firm environment with client-facing legal responsibilities
      • Ability to independently manage multiple active cases while maintaining accuracy and organization
      • Professional written and verbal English communication skills
      • Proficiency with Google Workspace, including Google Docs, Google Drive, Gmail, and Google Calendar
      • Experience using legal case management software is required
      • Experience with Lolly Law and Lawmatics is preferred but not required
