      Your Team

      • This position currently has 12 direct reports (Validation Tools Engineers).

      What You Will Do

      • This position is responsible for management of the development of test strategy / interface tools for Harman automotive products including amplifiers, loudspeaker, microphones, AHU & displays. The position will work closely with the HW Validation & Certification Global teams and Engineering to ensure test strategy and interface tools that fully validate our products.

      • Manage the design of automated solutions to improve efficiencies of the System Infrastructure global organization.
      • Support and mentor team members on the use of automated tools and developing new measurements for automated testers.
      • Drive test strategies and plans in accordance with business and product requirements.
      • Develop innovative ways to expose and test automotive audio components.
      • Gives guidance and direction to System Infrastructure engineers within group.
      • Identifies and implements cost-effective HW validation solutions.
      • Follows System Infrastructure guidelines for creating and maintaining documentation.
      • Provides technical support for the resolution of various customer and interdepartmental issues on an as needed basis.
      • Designs, documents and facilitates the assembly of test racks utilizing commercial off-the-shelf equipment and internally designed components, where needed.
      • Provides and ensures training and continuous development for the System Infrastructure team members as well as appraises the performance of subordinates and recommends the appropriate development plans.
      • Plans project development for the team. Drives execution according to the plans.
      • Develops tracks and drives team metrics.
      • Manages the tools development team including the assignment and tracking of individual goals.
      • Conducts performance individual reviews.

      • 10+ years in a product engineering or test strategy development role, preferably in automotive infotainment or consumer electronics.
      • 5 years of team management
      • Demonstrated experience functioning in a highly collaborative, demanding, and fast-paced environment.
      • Working knowledge of shell scripting and integrating multiple systems into a complete validation solution.
      • Working knowledge of multiple scripting languages (C, C++, VB, LabView, TestStand, etc.).
      • Vehicle networking experience (CAN, MOST).
      • Exemplary verbal and written communication skills.
      • Creative problem-solver capable of creating and reproducing software bugs.
      • Dedicated performer with the ability to advocate appropriately for product quality.
      • Relentless learner with a dedication to learn new technologies and test methods.
      • Capable project management and time management skills.
      • Bug tracking tools (JIRA, etc.,).
      • Configuration Management tools (Perforce, GIT, etc.,).
      • Office productivity software.
      • Bachelor of Science of Electrical / Mechatronic Engineering.
