RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Motivate, guide, and mentor student-athletes.
2. Maintain an open line of communication with parents and student-athletes.
3. Model and expect good sportsmanship behavior towards players, officials, colleagues, parents, and spectators.
4. Instruct players in the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport.
5. Determine game strategy.
6. Follow established procedures in the event of an athlete's injury.
7. Organizes and directs practice.
8. Follow policies and procedures set forth by MHSAA, school district, and athletic director.
9. Maintain current inventory of equipment.
10. Distribute equipment, supplies, and uniforms to students.
11. Participate in special activities (examples: parent's night, banquets, pep assemblies, etc.).
12. Maintain and distribute up to date rosters, eligibility information, emergency data, and other related records.
13. Oversee fundraising events or activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. A minimum of three (3) years of head coaching or three (3) years experience as an assistant in the sport area.
2. Playing experience in the sport area and an understanding of sport skills.
3. Demonstrated interest in and aptitude for performing the assignment.
4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.
5. CPR/AED certification or willingness to obtain
REQUIREMENTS:
Newly hired employees MUST satisfactorily pass:
1. Police clearance including digital fingerprinting
2. Drug test
3. Reference Checks
SEASONAL SALARY: $5,533.45
